Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy

At the International Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nexovation, we are deeply committed to maintaining the originality, authenticity, and ethical standards of clinical research and scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. This policy outlines our procedures for preventing, detecting, and addressing plagiarism during all stages of manuscript submission and publication.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is defined as the presentation of another’s work—whether ideas, data, words, images, or findings—without proper acknowledgment or permission. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Copying text, tables, figures, or illustrations without appropriate citation.
  2. Using content from another author’s work without crediting the source.
  3. Self-plagiarism, which involves reusing significant portions of one's previously published work without appropriate citation or editorial permission.

All forms of plagiarism, intentional or unintentional, violate the journal’s ethical standards.

Plagiarism Detection

All manuscripts submitted to the International Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nexovation undergo mandatory plagiarism screening using advanced similarity detection tools prior to peer review. The content is evaluated for overlap with previously published material, and manuscripts are assessed based on the level of similarity detected.

Handling Detected Plagiarism

Based on the degree of plagiarism found in the manuscript, the journal will take the following actions:

  1. Less than 5% Plagiarism: Manuscript will be assigned an ID and returned to the author for minor revision.
  2. 5% to 15% Plagiarism: Manuscript will not be assigned an ID. Authors will be asked to revise and resubmit the corrected version.
  3. More than 15% Plagiarism: Manuscript will be returned without review. Authors must revise the content substantially and resubmit it as a new submission.
  4. Above 30% Plagiarism: Manuscript will be outright rejected due to excessive overlap and failure to meet originality criteria. A new submission may be considered only after major revision and correction.

Post-Publication Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected after a manuscript has been published, the International Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nexovation will initiate a formal investigation. Depending on the severity of the case, the following actions may be taken:

  1. Notifying the author’s affiliated institution and relevant funding bodies.
  2. Adding a watermark of "Plagiarized" to every page of the PDF version of the article.
  3. Issuing a formal retraction notice and removing the article from indexing databases, if necessary.

Author Responsibility

By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors affirm that the work is original and not previously published elsewhere. Authors must ensure proper citation of all external and internal sources and must clearly distinguish between paraphrased content and directly quoted material. Accidental or intentional plagiarism will be treated with equal seriousness.

Self-Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism is also considered unethical. Authors must cite their own previous work if reusing content from it. Republishing previously presented data or clinical findings without disclosure or citation is not acceptable and may result in manuscript rejection.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

The International Journal of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nexovation is dedicated to preserving the integrity of scientific communication. Authors are expected to submit only original content and fully acknowledge all sources. The journal reserves the right to request clarification or supporting documentation in cases of suspected plagiarism.

Upholding these ethical standards ensures the credibility, quality, and trustworthiness of the research published in our journal.
